Apparently last weekend was one of the worst at the box office in a long time. Not a single flick pulled in over $10 million. Did you see the line-up last weekend? I kept on wanting to go out to the theatres but held myself back because of the crapitude.

It’s slump season.

Half Nelson – HOT. A little independent film starring Ryan Gosling that’s getting decent reviews.
Pi – HOT. Black & white and gritty with a great soundtrack. Who hasn’t seen it already?
The Last Kiss – HOT. Ok, probably not. But I find Zach Braff funny. Unfortunately he had nothing to do with the writing of this film.
Hollywoodland – HOT/NOT. Seems pretty average.
The Protector - HOT/NOT. Could be good if you want an action flick.
Everyone’s Hero – NOT. Whoopi Goldberg is the kiss of death.
Gridiron Gang – NOT. Rent Mean Machine with Vinnie Jones and Jason Statham instead.
The Black Dahlia – NOT. “From the director of Scarface”. Ah, Brian De Palma, it’s bad when you have to go back 20+ years to find a hit film.
Trust the Man – NOT. I’m not going to try and dissect why all of David Duchovny’s films suck even though I like him.
The Covenant – NOT. Will anyone admit to having seen this?
The Guardian – NOT NOT NOT! I love how Ashton Kutcher shows the clips for the climax on Conan O’Brien. They get wet and Kevin Costner saves him. The end.
Le Secret de ma Mere – NOT. I’ve got the secret of your mother right here, she’s a whore. Hey, you’re the one who wanted to go to private school.
Ottawa International Animation Festival – NOT. This is the festival that lead me to see Pinnochio 3000, a worse animated film there’s never been. (which also starred Whoopi Goldberg. Coincidence?)

I love how the Protector and the Guardian are in theatres at the same time. I can’t wait for someone to see Tony Jaa when they were expecting Ashton Kutcher.
